P.K 2.0 SELECTS: 'DRIVE' FROM POST LOVERS

A few days ago we came across ‘Post Lovers’ and the release of their latest album called "Drive". "Post Lovers" is the creative project of founder Eleni Karageorgou, who is responsible for the band’s lyrics and orchestration, Stavros Georgiopoulos (bass and mixing), Nick Tselios (guitar) and Danae Eco (keyboards).

Debuting with the single "Melbourne/Going Anyway" back in the covid free year of 2017, their short indie folk songs have a personal nature, turning fragile memories and emotions into songs recalling a pastiche of elements from the last 30 years of international indie scenes and aesthetics. Fast forward to 2021, their latest album titled "Drive", the band’s evolution is apparent and a distinct sound taking shape. With influences that range from modern rock and indie to blues and country music, there is a fresh and uplifting tone that reveals a yearning quality to their sound on this sophomore effort. While their first album tended toward a more bedroom pop and lo-fi charm, ‘Drive’ contains 10 unique songs in a higher rhythm.

Their image driven vintage/90s aesthetics push the band into more effusive imaginative territory; precinct boomy sounds intertwine with nubilous overtones, evoking feelings of tempestuous infatuation and cool summers. Highlights from the album include The Word (Mansplaining), On the Pill, and Palmistry

Out now on vinyl and digital formats from Inner Ear records.
